Two students of English Literature study program, Faculty of Arts and Education, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia won the 2023 English Olympics National Champion held by the Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic (PNUP) of South Sulawesi on June 17-18, 2023 by online. The two students are Nazaha  Wafaqrana Azzumar and Adelia Putri.

Nazaha won the storytelling competition as 2nd National winner. Nazaha went through two rounds, namely the prepared story round with the theme “Another World in My Dream” and the top 5 final round in the form of prepared stories one day before the competition. Nazaha in the final round told about “Magic in The Middle of The Desert” which made her worthy of becoming 2nd National champion with 1st place occupied by Udayana University and outperforming the Shipping Polytechnic in 3rd position.

Nazaha expressed her gratitude for winning this competition, because she had previously participated in the Brawijaya English Tournament 2023 as a top 10   finalist.

Besides Nazaha, another outstanding student is Adelia Putri. The student who is often called Adel won 3rd place in National newscasting (news reading competition in English) as the 3rd winner. In the preliminary round, Adel prepared a text entitled gender equality in the UK and Indonesia. Meanwhile, in the final round, Adel along with four other finalists presented a live report and were finally determined as National 3rd Place with 1st place occupied by Brawijaya University and the 2nd position is occupied by Lampung University. 

During the process, Nazaha and Adel were guided directly by Suprayogi, M.Hum. and Dina Amelia, M.Hum.

As the supervisor and Head of English Literature Study Program, Suprayogi  said that  “This student is  still  in the 2nd semester but Have a high fighting spirit and wider opportunities to race and gain  international experience.”  Suprayogi  also expressed  his gratitude to Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia which always provides full support  and facilities to its students to achieve achievements.
