Sekar Kinasih, English Literature Student Representing Indonesia on Student Exchange to the United States – YSEALI Academic Fellowship Program 2023

Sekar Kinasih, a Student of English Literature, Faculty of Arts and Education, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, Passed the YSEALI Academic Fellowship International Youth Exchange 2023.   The Young South East Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship Program is organized by the U.S.  Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, The U.S. Department of State. Sekar is planned to depart on April 1 – May 6, 2023 (Spring) with other colleagues from Indonesia and Southeast Asia. For approximately one month, Sekar attended a series of workshops and training at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

YSEALI Academic Scholarship is a short-term intensive academic program that aims to give young leaders a deeper understanding of the United States and specific themes, while improving their leadership skills.  The scholarship will focus on one  of three themes: Community Engagement,  Environmental Issues,  and Social Entrepreneurship  and Economic Development.  

Sekar is active in UKM Teknokrat English Club and UKM Islam. Sekar is currently taking his 5th semester with excellent academic achievements and English communication skills.

In the YSEALI Selection process, Sekar was directly guided by Suprayogi, M.Hum.  as the the Head of English Literature Study Program and Intan Hamzah, M.Pd.  as the Head of the International Office of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia designed a focused and optimal training program starting from file preparation to interviews.
